I bought this and used it in baking a cake, the colour is very light compared to the other brands and the taste was weird and then I checked and it is not pure molasses, so please check before buying, also I opened the jar on the 14th of November and I closed it properly and put it in a cool dark place. The second time I used it was 20th of December, same year, little over a month apart and when I opened it to use there was fungal growth/ green powdery mould growing on the lid and in the bottle. I had to throw it away for safety reasons. Please check your products, this seems to be an issue.

Advantages
I used it as a substitute for treacle. It worked fine except that it was not ats dark as treacle. I used it to make Xmas cakes/plum cakes. Turned out really good.

This product mixes 70% sugarcane juice into 30% Molasses by my reconning. Its too sweet to taste & very syrupy unlike real and 100% molasses which actually tastes bitter & as much thicker in consistency. While real molasses is available very cheaply, unfortunately, bottled molasses on Silkrute is priced very high! Dhampure's price might be reasonable, but is a diluted syrup. Not the real deal.
