First up: this clearly isn't cheap but its the *only* ghee that is sourced humanely (no slaughter of old animals, no forced pregnancies, calfs are fed first etc.) , is organic and is A2 (i.e. from domestic or Desi breeds - which produce ghee of a superior nutritional profile). The quality of care given to the animals make this a guilt-free product that I'm delighted to use for my family. In terms of taste, I find it exceptional which is probably due to the quality feed and medicinal herbs that the cows are fed. This ghee has made for so many delicious Moong dal halwas, Dal Tadkas, Kesari Baths, Dosas etc. (my mouth is watering as I type this review). Just half a teaspoon of this mixed into your plate transforms an everyday meal in to something sublime. As we use this with moderate consumption in our house, it has lasted for more than 2 months so while its not exactly cheap, its not breaking the bank either and is good value. I'm willing to pay for this as it ensures the cows are not left on the streets or sent to a slaughterhouse but instead are given the care that they deserve after spending their life in our service. A must buy for those care for quality as well as humane care for the gentle animals that gift us with this amazingly nutritious food for our families!

I dont know how can anyone write anything less then 5 starts it is the best ethical practice bilona ghee available and there is so much to learn from their gaushala in ahmedabad definately the best.

Delighted to find this product on Amazon!. I live in Ahmedabad where this Ghee is made, so we've been buying it directly from the Gaushala, and using it since last few months. Authentic bilona ghee of extremely pure desi Gir breed, with heart touching standards of cow care (they like to call them "Gaumata"). The seemingly high price comes from the higher cost of Vedic standards of non-exploitative care. The taste, colour and smell often varies, but that is completely natural. Their founder Shri Gopal Sutariya also runs a YouTube channel for educating farmers. If you are looking for a 100% pure & genuine product, then buy this with eyes closed!
