Advantages
You get a sweet, mystical and earthy smell even before burning, just by holding the rock close to the nose. After powdering it, spritzing it with water to activate it, and heating it, then whole room became filled with sweet and intoxicating myrrh smell. Here's how I "burn" the resin:1. Using mortar/pestle crush it into small pieces2. Place the powder/bits in a small flat metal container or plate3. Add couple teaspoons of water to prevent the temperature from going too high4. Put your container on a temperature controlled hot plate, and gently raise heat5. Enjoy heady myrrh aroma carried by the steam!6. As the water boils away, keep adding small drops of water to replenishHighly recommend that you get a power controlled hot plate to gently vaporize this delicate resin.I use this cheap hot plate: "ANKH 500 Watt Electric Cooking Portable Hot Plate", and set it to power level 2. This particular one is not induction based, so you can use any small vessel on top of it.
