My search for a sustainable alternative for pads ends here. I am writing this review after using it for almost 2 months. Those who are skeptical about this, I highly recommend you to try this because once you get the hang of it, there is nothing more convenient and comfortable as this. And most importantly - zero waste! I will share a few tips from my experience on how to use the cup:1. There are many folds one can try to insert it, personally I have found the punch-down fold the most apt one. Punching down where the hole is helps the cup get sucked better once inside. Squatting or sitting position works best while inserting and keep in mind to insert it at an angle.2. Okay now the main part, how do I know if it is in the right position and properly sucked in? This is something even I struggled with and after many searches on google, have found the best technique. So after inserting and releasing your fingers, run your finger around the base of the cup to see the shape. It should be either circular or oval, without any other folds in between. To be extra sure, pinch once near the fold and release for the suction to happen again. After this, slightly tug the stem of the cup and if it does not give way, you're good to go. Another clue is that you shouldn't be able to feel a thing once it's inside, so if it feels uncomfortable, better check it once.3. You can keep it in for 8-10 hours easily without any issue. With almost no chances of leakage, you can sleep at ease.4. Go ahead and wear those light-coloured pants (once you're absolutely certain of having mastered the technique). No more discomfort while walking (as with pads) , it's like you're not on your period.5. Do not get paranoid of the cup getting lost inside. It definitely won't and worrying will just tense the muscles, making it seem harder to remove. Pinching at the base of the cup just above the stem will release the vacuum and then it can be easily removed.6. Disinfect the cup before your cycle by boiling in water for 1-2 mins. In between, you can wash with regular hand wash and re-insert.Pros-1. NO waste, it's sooo much better for the environment. Imagine the amount of pads and their plastic packaging you are avoiding all together.2. Very economical3. Much lesser chances of leakage4. Won't feel like you're on your period5. Can go in water, swim or any other water related activity even on periodsCons-1. Takes a bit of technique and practice to get used to, but this is only in the beginning. After that stage, there are no cons whatsoever.There is still a lot of apprehension about the cup, but I urge you to give it a chance and recommend it to others as well! It is THE solution for a hassle-free period.

I bought the size S. But the capacity is only 15 ml. Beginers with very low flow can use it but often to be checked as it overflows. And the material is very thick and sometimes doesn't open up after inserted. Very difficult for 1st time use. But it's always a trial and error method so don't loose hope keep trying. Before trying mensural cup please do a wide research on other products also.Few of the things i need to give advice on is1. Check the diameter of the cup if you have small opening or a 1st time user. If the diameter is big it will be hard to insert for a small cervical hole.2. Based on the flow choose the correct cup capacity, nothing is based on the age to choose the cup. Choose based on the flow.3. Choose a soft material because thick cups are difficult to open. Read and see lots videos before buying mensural cups. Check on How to verify the cup is opened or not. Because mensural cup is an amazing product to use, if utilitized properly. Many give complains on leakage. Even I had the same problem because I didn't check whether the cup has opened up inside. After correctly inserting and checking it did not leak. And felt amazing to as if I am on my normal day.4. 1st time users try punch down fold for easy insertion. Definitely for the 1st it's gonna pain in case if you have a small hole or a virgin or a woman who hasn't touched that area at all. Bcz very 1st insertion is gonna tear your hymus and go inside. So a light pain will be there. But that doesn't create much problem it pains for 1 or 2 days that's all. Most importantly please insert your cup only during your period bcz when you give a 1st trial on your non period days you will not like mensural cups at all. Only the period blood helps as a lubricant for smooth insertion. Else it will be very dry to insert.5. Make sure you sit on a comfortable position for insertion. And keep your mind relaxed. Don't stress at all. Bcz the stress in mind creates a presure there, which wil be difficult to insert.6. Lastly the stem of the cup. Incase if the stem is irritating for you, please feel free to cut the stem short. Else choose a cup with short stem. Else that will create a discomfort.The best fit of a cup is you shouldn't feel that you are on your period. Choose a mensural cup as per your body and flow. Totally its an amazing innovation. Must support.
