meets all its claim. Its a mini idli maker. So, please don't get confused with the bigger one. by now i have used it for 8 times and can say that once the water is hot, it can cook idli in 3 mins.

I love mini idlis & now I love this mini idli maker.The idli maker does its job in an efficient way. In my case, it takes around 5-6 minutes. I feel, this is entirely dependent on the microwave used by you.The product quality is very good & I got this one at a lightning discount of 30%.The idli plates are perforated & it might create trouble in case the batter is watery.To remove the left overs in the perforations, you may use a toothpick & it will serve your purpose.

I have not purchased this particular piece but have purchased many micro idli makers. I saw complaints about cleaning. here is a simple way to clean holes of all idli plates of all makes, which I found out by necessity,1. soak the idli plates in water for 5 or 10 minutes.2.boil in water and keep an old tooth brush ready. or you can keep a new hard bristled tooth brush ready.3. now hold the idli plates under running water under tap and scrub all the holes and oneside surface with the tooth brush., some amount of blocking material is washed off by running water.4.now reverse the plate and continue the cleaning process. the entire blocking material is washed off.5.if you prefer, now, clean the plates with dilute washing soap poder solution and again clean well under running water to remove soap traces.6. cleaning with needle instead of the above procedure is a punishment.

for cleaning holes in idliplates, you dont need needls but just tooth brush.

Amazon need to inform its vendors to send the same colour ordered by the customer. The basis of ordering a specific colour is defeated if the supplier sends as per his fancy. I ordered for a yellow colour received is an off-white variant.The look & feel of the product on the quality front is decent though could have got priced a little more competitively. The design mold need to be modified so that the convenience value of the product increases manifold. The base should have a projection which can lock both the IDLY plates to it so that while placing the container in the microwave the plates will not overturn resulting in the batter to spill if we tilt the container. Secondly the idly plates have small holes which is not required - as such the batter gets stuck in the holes resulting in difficulty in cleaning - to remove the batter which gets hard inside this small holes is a time consuming process which we have to do carefully with the help of a needle.

Good product - what I received was what I saw advertised.Had been wishing for a mini idli maker for long - this is it.One downside - you must clean all the holes in the idli wells with a toothbrush else food particles may remain inside the tiny holes.It helps if you soak the steamer plates in water for 15 - 30 mins before starting to clean.However , to be fair , this particular flaw is there in ALL microwave idli makers, big and small.Very useful for me as my kiddo loves the mini idlis in his school lunchbox !( I am a Northie lol )
