Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

I have been using these "small" hawkins pressure cookers since almost twenty years! I have three of them - one for rice, and the other two for gravies and non-veg. They are very sturdy, durable and I never faced any issues with it for years. Just recently - one of the handles broke loose - after nearly a decade of rough use. The hawkins service guys nearby replaced it immediately. I would vouch for a Hawkins inner lid pressure cooker any time. Buy two together for a long lasting experience.

It’s my latest addition to my collection of useful kitchen utensils. Very spacious & the wide mouth of the cooker makes it very easy to mix stuff. Makes very good quantities for 4-5 members. It is very handy when cooking for a small gathering also. It’s beautiful, easy to clean & seamless cooking. I definitely recommend this.

I’ve always had a thought which Cooker to buy since my family likes dal cooked real smooth and fine paste and after cooking in this Hawkins I’ve realised this is it . To everyone who is using prestige and wasting gas please pay some extra cash and buy futura . It took me just 4 minutes on timer for the first whistle and total 6-8 minutes for 5 whistles . I highly recommend to buy this one
