I have been using this for the past 4 to 5 months. The rim had begun to crack in less than 3 months. The screw on the lid becomes rusty as the steam moves up from the kettle, and the rusty substance will eventually drop into ur liquid. So, the lid becomes pointless as one cannot boil water with the lid on. Moreover, you hav got to wait till the water is cooled down before you could put the lid back on. The steel body also has the tendency to become rusted. Said that, I have given it 2 stars because the kettle had been quite handy in the last couple of months. It looks stylish and sleek (except for the cracked rims). The temp nob is helpful. And the attachments such as stand and container are okay, as I use them for other purposes. The stand is very light and the container is made up of pure plastic. I don't think the container is meant to be used with the kettle. The plastic might melt. I have been using it only for boiling water. Also, I had once made black tea in it. So, cleaning hadn't been an issue for me. Mind you, there is no auto off, and if you are forgetful like me, you better choose one with automatic switch off. However, Pigeon is not to be blamed for THAT. So can't complain. So, is it useful? Yes. Despite the cracked rim and rusty lid, it is usable. I am using it every day. But am I disappointed? Yes, again. Given that the product is from a reputable company such as Pigeon, one might expect a better quality where everything, including metal, is concerned.

I manually removed the auto cut, so that I could fry some things in it. But it couldn't handle the temperature and the metal of the container split for about 2 inches at the top. Still works though. So, overall an ok product. But the idli stand that comes along with it, is suitable only for making very small idlis, and has been unnecessarily appended to increase the cost.
